  • Welcome, introductions, and overview of session
  • Demonstrate an iPad running an ePub book that includes video, image, adjustable text size, definitions, and audio
  • Accessibility - Demonstrate how eBooks can be accessible for readers with disabilities, emphasize features that support learners such as built-in dictionary, highlighting and notes
  • Introduction to Pages, tour of the interface and commonly used tools
  • Input text into Pages and add Paragraph Styles
  • Add images, audio, and video
  • ePub Accessibility best practices (captions for images)
  • Creating a screen captured video using Quicktime
  • Adding links to other resources that can open in a browser
  • Check formatting and page breaks
  • Export as ePub and PDF
  • Input ePub into iTunes and sync iPad
  • Distribution of ePub books with visits to web sites
  • View book in iBook and discuss how ePubs are fluid and the final format for reading is determined by the reader
